APPLE CRISP

APPLE CRISP RECIPE ~ (AVERAGE) 4 SERVINGS ~

~ INGREDIENTS

° 4 apples, peeled and cut into chunks
° 1 cup + 1 tbsp. sugar
° 1/3 cup oats
° 1/4 cup brown sugar
° 1/4 cup unsalted butter
° 1/4 cup flour
° 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (divide in half)
° 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
° pinch salt
° ice cream or whipped cream on top (optional)
° small amount of other spices you may enjoy in apple dishes (allspice, ginger, etc) (optional)

~ INSTRUCTIONS

° preheat oven to 375 F/190.5 C
° wash and peel apples. cut them into small or large chunks depending on your tastes. coat them with half of the cinnamon. when done, put them in a 8x8 oiled pan.
° in a separate bowl, combine oats, flour, nutmeg, other half of cinnamon, sugar, brown sugar
° once you're done mixing, cut butter into small slices. use a pastry blender or fork to cut it into the mixture until small crumbs of butter are left
° lay mixture on top of apples evenly
° bake for 30 mins, or until golden brown
° after its cooled down a bit, feel free to add a topping. ice cream is always a delicious addition. enjoy! :)
